TODDLER ABC PRINTED LETTERS

The Toddler English Learning System (TELS®) utilizes all aspects of integrated reading for optimum student achievement. Toddler abc is designed to present a series of learning experiences for young children learning English as a second language. The major focus of Toddler abc is to present readiness through the letters of the alphabet, left to right visual progression, and single consonant and vowel sounds as early acquisition of the alphabetic principal is being developed. The students are helped to realize that there are differences between individual letters and learn the difference between capital and lower-case letters. Letter-sound correspondences are highly irregular and inconsistent in English. Toddler abc firmly establishes for students of a very young age the basic names and sounds of the letters of the alphabet. Beginning with auditory perception combined with visual recognition of the letters, the students begin to recognize letter- sound identification. The children also recognize vocabulary and associate the beginning sound with the letter. The progressive series of activities begín to accustom the children to the differences in the sounds of the short and long vowel sounds, the hard and soft "c" and "g" and others sounds of letter combinations. Toddler English Learning System (TELS®) utilizes a wholesome combination of other experiences, such as storytelling, story listening, vocabulary development, and social and language experiences to prepare the students to acquire the linguístic ability needed to converse fluently in English. The activities in Toddler abc are aligned with the developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood and with essential knowledge and skills expected for the age groups being served.
