The Toddler English Learning System (TELS?) is a four-book series sequentially developed for pre-school students who are learning English as a second language ina Spanish-English bilingual program. The series provides activities and strategies from age 2 through Kindergarten, carefully controlling practices and skills that are developmentally appropriate for the given ages and maturity levels.The variety of approaches provide motivational activities that make learning child- centered. The series aligns the listening, speaking, reading and writing processes so that students develop, learn and understand English as a second .language as a natural process. Because the series is bilingual, teachers will have the option of using the Spanish version to provide first language (mother tongue) instruction as necessary.
